How 4K Roofing Started

4K Roofing and Restoration started in Medina, Ohio on a simple idea: do the work right, tell people the truth, and stand behind the job long after the crew has packed up and left. The business is 10 years old. The roofing is not. Owner Michael Kvak, who most people just call Mike, and the core of the crew were putting on roofs for 25 or more years before 4K opened its doors. The trade came first. The company came later, once Mike decided he would rather run it his way than someone else’s.

Medina County is home, not a market. Mike grew up around here, lives here now, and built the business in a place where the people whose roofs you fix are also the people you run into at the hardware store and the kids’ ball games. A roof that fails does not just soak a homeowner’s living room. It follows the contractor who hung it. In a county this size, word travels, and that has always kept the standard high.

What Local Ownership Actually Means

Northeast Ohio has national roofing franchises. It also gets out-of-state crews that roll in after a big hail event, knock on doors for a few weeks, and roll back out. 4K Roofing is neither of those.

The Crew

The 4K crew is Chad, Tom, John, Dominic, Ben, Chase, Joe, Tanner, Chris, and Earnest. These are not day-labor hires or a rotating cast of subcontractors brought on for the busy season. They are 4K, and many of them have been swinging hammers and running tear-offs for years. When a 4K truck shows up in your driveway, these are the people on it.

4K Roofing covers 66 cities across Medina, Cuyahoga, Lorain, and Summit Counties. We are based in Medina and work outward from there across Northeast Ohio. Most of the area we cover sits inside an hour of home base, which means a fast turn after storms and no travel surcharge tacked on for the outer edges of the map.

We have put on more than 5,000 roofs across this region.
